This Tribute entry is for one of the most beautiful projects we have seen in Spain lately. We admire their strength to be far away from the massive design production and their view of contemporary design, well, as they say "smart design".
Homeless Design curated ‘future under construction’ exhibition in Milan 2013. This online platform that promotes collaboration between designers and artisans promotes a competition every year and awards the selected designers with an exhibition space at Fuori Salone, in the exclusive design district of Brera. The venue was located near the most important brands such as Moroso, Edra and Skitch.
Also, ten selected designers will have the opportunity to show their work in a beautiful space inspired by the recently open Homeless Design Cafe – coffee and trends – in Madrid, Spain. In the exhibition you can find new pieces of Decafé collection by Raúl Laurí , Salone Satellite Award 2012 first prize winner, João Abreu with Teapot’set an interesting porcelain set that focuses on the moment of transformation itself and Stool&table by SputnikEstudio produced by Spanish artisans. Designs on display will be promoted and available at Homeless Design online shop.
Homeless Design Network is an international project that provides an online point of reference in promoting collaboration between artisans and small producers with designers. They get together to create a synergy, linking those who design an object and those who have the ability to produce it. This initiative includes promotion and diffusion of designs through events, showrooms, workshops, competitions and other marketing and communication actions.
Homeless Design Network aims to be a window displaying the talent, creativity, ability and expertise of artisans and designers, giving visibility to both groups. This collaboration allows the designer to fulfill his projects thanks to the artisan and it increases revenues and market growth of the latter.
