This week at VXLAB our adoptive home of Castellon experienced a major event in its small but growing design community. As online portfolio and self promotion site Behance set up an evening as part of a global ‘Behance Reviews’ initiative. Connecting experienced local design studios with local young and budding designers, As one of the former, VXLAB founder Jorge was on hand to give a talk on branding design methodology and discuss review some portfolios of the students present.
We were greeted by a high number of eager young designers from the city at a local city bar open specifically for the event. The event was a great chance for us to get to know the future of castellon design.
Jorge Garcia-Riego giving his speech at Behance Reviews Castellón, a full length video can be found below for our fellow Spanish speaking followers.
Holding a workshop with a group of graphic designers, allowing the students to discuss ideas and pick Jorge´s brain on the more complex corporate identity, problem solving and the branding design aspects of our work.
And of course what kind of celebration would this be without cake!
Local studios Yinsen, Wanna Filmakers and Víctor Guerrero to give their expertise in each of their respective separate design fields.
Castellon has not always had a reputation for design but a high turnout and enthusiastic crowd paints a bright picture ahead for our city. Its exiting for us to so many interested in our field of work. Those of you that visited we glad you came and helped to make the event a resounding success.
And last but not least, you can finally enjoy Jorge's opening speech. We hope you like it:
